Last Chance Tourism
Last chance tourism (LCT) is otherwise known as doomsday travel, or vanishing earth voyaging. It involves travelling to a site that is likely to experience vast change or will not exist in the future. Climate change is dictating tourism visits, as tourist flock to areas being degraded or which will no longer exist as a result of climate change. Tourists are interested in seeing endangered species before they become extinct. Examples of tourist sites attracting Last Chance Tourists include the Great Barrier Reef, Antarctica, and the Arctic.

Virtual tours coupled with internet booking options allow a business to reach a greater number of potential customers. Interactive virtual tours are an engaging marketing tool which catch the attention of the customer. Virtual tours allow the site to be seen at its best, regardless of whether the viewer sees it in the offseason or day or night. A business can present the most spectacular aspects of the business, scenery or tourist site 24 hours a day. Customers can become familiar and comfortable with a site before they get there, and ensure their expectations meet the reality.

Exchange rates
A loonie refers to a Canadian dollar coin. The low loonie is resulting in tourism in Canada emerging as a key industry. It is encouraging Canadians to have a "staycation" and travel within their own country. Foreign tourists, but particularly Americans are also encouraged to travel into Canada to take advantage of cheaper prices. The low exchange rate has resulted in a decline in business tourism, and increased costs of advertising outside of Canada, but despite this leisure tourism is growing.
